Ricad Hutapea is a young vibrant jazz saxophonist from Jakarta, Indonesia. He has performed with great Indonesian and International jazz musicians the likes of Indra Lesmana, Tohpati, Dewa Budjana, Idang Rasjidi, Monita Tahalea, Otti Jamalus, Yance Manusama, Oele Pattiselano, Jeff Lorber, Jody Espina, etc. He has two solo albums called Jalan Pertama and The Standard.
He will be performing on the World Youth Jazz Festival (WYJF) 2018 stage from 4-6 May 2018 with his band, RICAD HUTAPEA POWER BAND (RHPB).
RHPB is made up of young Indonesian musicians gathered by Ricad Hutapea to perform original compositions similar to those recorded and performed by Tower of Power. Ricad Hutapea’s wife, Renata Tobing, a soulful songstress, will be featured on vocals. We can expect some electrifying stuff from this young band as their mature performances do not reflect their young age.
